We are in the highest part of the La Groletta vineyard, at an altitude of 250 meters, overlooking Lake Garda but also sheltered by the Lessin Mountains: a splendid position, because the microclimate has to be just perfect.

De Buris is not only wine.
De Buris is an enchanted spot and a villa full of history and art, whose roots stretch back to Roman times. Villa De Buris contains two thousand years of history of the Valpolicella area: here the De Buris project has found the ideal space in which to grow and develop.

De Buris is the luxury of time: an oenological project undertaken by the Tommasi Family, which, with respect for tradition, has created an Amarone Riserva and a Valpolicella Classico Superiore that are the most contemporary interpretation of the territory they represent.

The goal is elevated and achieved through extensive geological analysis and historical research to better define the roots of the project, identifying the “heartbeat” of the vineyard that transports us back, like a precious and enduring witness, to the origins of the project, the history of a place, and a family.

DE BURIS Valpolicella Classico Superiore doc

Unique, genuine and gentle, however extraordinary like nature. It shows a intense red ruby color, on the nose it presents classic notes of ripe maraschino cherry and dark plum aromas. It’s freshness and complexity, encloses an extremely vibrant soul that develops further more in the cellar through the years. It requires time and a prestigious taste in order to discover its sought after harmonic nuances.

DE BURIS Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG

The 2011 vintage expresses a strong personality. Intense ruby red color, with garnet shades. The typical notes of plum, black cherry and bitter almond stand out on the nose along with nuances of tobacco, licorice, cocoa and spices. On the palate it is warm and powerful, it has a harmonious balance and a long, refined and exquisite finish.

DE BURIS Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG

The grapes destined for Amarone were harvested with the meticulous care required for optimal drying, which lasted about three months and ended on January the 10th. It was necessary to use the assistance of extra cooling fans to maintain the temperature and humidity levels ideal for grapes health.

De Buris 2009 displays an ideal equilibrium, in which the exuberant power of the tannins and the fleshiness of the fruit are counterbalanced and enhanced by the wine’s aromas and freshness. This is a new interpretation of a contemporary Amarone, deriving from a special place and a rare intuition in which the whole - as in a great concerto – is greater than the sum of the parts, and every sip provides a moment of suspension.
